Dragon Boat Festival

It's another BOILING HOT day when all these BRAVE people rowing to be the champion of the annual dragon boat festival in Shing Mun River in Shatin.
Named one of the largest and most celebrated competitions in Hong Kong, it's included in the list of programmes of celebrating the 10th year of the handover this year.
Having lived in Shatin for almost 7 years, this is the first time I got so close to the crowd and the boats - really exciting!!! The paths along the river banks were cramped with enthusiastic audience, squeezing themeselves into space for better views of the boats and the competitions and amateur and professional photographers setting their cameras to shoot the best shots of the competitions. I was one of them.
One of the most unforgettable must be this boat (see left) which couldn't went straight -- ended up crossing the line towards the banks. And at this point, the crowds couldn't help but teasing and mocking how stupid and unprofessional these boat rowers were. Well, it's a scene, I must say. The boat finally reached the finishing point about 2 or 3 mins later after the second last one.
Funny, huh?!
