Finally I was watching a movie at cinema, not home! And most of all, that I had the time to spare!
I always 'respect' Meryl Streep as she's indeed a brilliant actress devoted to acting, and of coz the movie industry. She's in the movie as a Jewish mother and also a therapist for Rafi (Uma Thurman). In a number of scenes, she actually acts out the fun of a mother who's always looking at her child as 'kid', and how she react so vigorously (like heart attack or something! :D) when Rafi (who didn't know her therapist is in fact her new bf's mom) talks about her son's penis - funny line here when Rafi said she appreciated 'that thing' so much she wants to knit a little hat for it! I couldn't even grasp my breath coz I laughed A LOT!!! HAHA!
Anyway, it proved to be not just a comedy or a piece of 'cheap' entertainment (when I said that, I meant... just for laughs, not for brains). Well, 'prime' as the title - referring to the time when people falls head over heels for love - as the time when passion dominates your rationality. Some truths in fact about relationship and the movie has what I would call 'depth'.
I could see and feel how realistic every scene is and it doesn't surprise me to learn that the director spent 8 years finishing the scripts.
A recommended one, not only because it's hilarious, you can actually dig truths out of the scenes. One thing I found it not perfect enough is the development of the character of Lisa (Meryl Streep) - needs a little more about her emotional change after knowing her son's gf is actually Rafi, her client.
*Looking forward to 'Brokeback Mountain'.
